Going into a day of making art here at Renny Run, you never quite know for sure what will happen. Sure,  you might have the beginnings of a plan, but even after going through your notes, setting goals, and checking in with the team on what the plan even is, when you finally sit down to actually draw, well, anything goes.

But even with the uncertainty (there's really no getting around it), part of the great fun of drawing anything at all is the fact that your plan can change. So many of the final designs here at Renny Run aren't first drafts, or second drafts, or third drafts. Many of our characters were discovered through the editing process, or even by accident due to trying something new with a brush stroke here or there. Ironically, this fly-by-the-wheel approach to drawing ties in well with what a big part of what Renny Run is about--believing in possibility the potential of the creativity we all have.

As Renny Run's Head Illustrator, I'm thankful to be part of this small but mighty team, one that's used to adapting to the changes, ups, downs, and occasional sharp left turns of the creative process. As the world of Renny Run continues to grow and you get to know some of the little folks that live in it, rest assured that almost nothing and no one went exactly according to plan, but we all had a lot of fun getting there.

Case in point, here's how I Am An Explorer came to be!
