Where do ideas come from? Self-Expression

There is not a more powerful or personal external representation of how you see yourself or how the world sees you than the clothes you wear.

I had a few things as a kid, not too much, but I was always mixing and matching to extend what I had in my closet and to, well, express myself.  Often my mother, while suppressing a laugh, would look me up and down and say something like, “What are we going for here?” Come to think of it, this may be the real reason she sent me to a school that required uniforms. Hmmm.

Anyway, here at Renny Run, we thought that it might be fun and inspiring to give kids a clearer voice like, “I am a teacher”.  I imagine a conversation that goes like this:

Grown-up, “So you’re a teacher, huh?  You’re 4. What kind of teacher are you?”
Kid, “I am a mermaid teacher!” "No, I'm a polar bear teacher!"

Whatever it is, the kid gets to say “I am…” I think that’s kind of cool, actually.  Of course, they will change their minds as they grow, which is why we will offer so many selections as we grow with them!  Right now we have “I am a Teacher”, “I am a Creator”, and our signature, “I am Small but Mighty”, but every few months we will add another shirt like  “I am a Pilot”,  “I am an Engineer”, “I am a Doctor”. You name it the sky is the limit!

No literally, You name it.

In the meantime, here is a great video about what kids think they want to be when they grow up.

Soon we will have our own videos!  Stay tuned.
